Sobremesa is The Hideaway’s central gathering spot devoted to serving casual, eclectic, and healthy-ish meals with a farm-to-table philosophy. Designed and furnished with comfort in mind, we encourage you to “sobremesa with us!

Lounge poolside with a drink in one hand and a book in the other while waves crumble just beyond the palm trees. Or slide up to our one-of-a-kind bar top, made from dark purple nazareno, salvaged from the Darien Jungle. Dine in our open-air restaurant, where we care about food, music, and atmosphere. Cue jungle sounds and laughter.

Eat. Drink. Stargaze. Repeat.

Brittany Morgan, Hospitality Consultant

Many Panamanian’s are familiar with at least one of the numerous restaurants owned and operated by restaurateur Brittany Morgan. Funnily enough, she is a fellow Torontonian (who we happened to meet in Panama City), and luckily for us she has joined the Catalina’s Hideaway team. Brittany opened her first restaurant in Panama back in 2011, “Raw Fusion” in Bocas del Toro, and hasn’t looked back since. She is currently a partner and operator of three popular restaurants in the historical district of Casco Viejo, “Aki Japanese Kitchen”, “Mahalo Cocina Y Jardin” and “Mahalo Snack Shack”. She has also consulted for other expats opening hospitality businesses in Panama, including the successful speak-easy “La Barbara” and New York Pizza Parlour “Jungle Slice”. From the restaurant layout to sourcing us one of Panama’s top-chefs, she brings invaluable experience to the opening of our restaurant, “Sobremesa”.
